RBD is a Pop act. Their sound grew out of Sin Bandera, Timbiriche, Erreway, Jowell & Randy and Myriam Montemayor Cruz. Those roots explain a lot about how RBD arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Dulce María, Lu, Anitta, Paulina Rubio and Jesse & Joy, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Sara Paxton, Pablo Holman and Tiziano Ferro, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 42 connections around RBD, reaching back through Sin Bandera and forward to Sara Paxton.
