Selena

Contemporary R&B
Contemporary R&BHouseLatin pop

Selena is a Contemporary R&B and House act. Their catalogue also touches Latin pop, Mariachi and Pop. Their sound grew out of El Último Tour Del Mundo, YHLQMDLG, Tú Sólo Tú, David Morales and Emilio. Those roots explain a lot about how Selena arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Gloria Trevi, Marisela, Alejandra Guzmán, Paulina Rubio and Bronco, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Américo, Tevin Campbell, Leslie Grace, El sexto sentido and GALE, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 45 connections around Selena, reaching back through El Último Tour Del Mundo and forward to Américo. Follow any of those threads to keep travelling the influence between bands and genres on Starverb.
