David Byrne is a Rap act. Their sound grew out of Shirley Manson, Iris DeMent, Mutantes, Allison Moorer and William Onyeabor. Their influence carried into Son Lux, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, Dirty Projectors, Luaka Bop and Arthur Russell, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation.
