Seyi Shay

Seyi Shay is an act on the Starverb influence map. Their sound grew out of Nikki Laoye, Cobhams Asuquo, Pheelz, Beyoncé and Tina Turner. Those roots explain a lot about how Seyi Shay arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Kiss Daniel, Sean Tizzle, Harrysong, Selebobo and CDQ, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Teyana Taylor, Flavour, King Promise, Vanessa Mdee and RUNTOWN, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 25 connections around Seyi Shay, reaching back through Nikki Laoye and forward to Teyana Taylor. Follow any of those threads to keep travelling the influence between bands and genres on Starverb.
