Beyoncé is a Contemporary R&B and Country act. Their catalogue also touches Pop. Their sound grew out of Hiatus Kaiyote, Moonchild Sanelly, Tina Turner, Do It Well and Ammo. Those roots explain a lot about how Beyoncé arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as The Carters, Destiny's Child, Chloe x Halle, Chlöe and Kelly Rowland, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Agnez Mo, Zara Larsson, Sam Smith, Bridgit Mendler and Meghan Trainor, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 324 connections around Beyoncé, reaching back through Hiatus Kaiyote and forward to Agnez Mo. Follow any of those threads to keep travelling the influence between bands and genres on Starverb.
