Slave is an act on the Starverb influence map. Their sound grew out of Faze-O. Those roots explain a lot about how Slave arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Lakeside, Con Funk Shun, Ohio Players, Brick and Kleeer, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into R&G (Rhythm & Gangsta): The Masterpiece, Aurra and N'dambi, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 34 connections around Slave, reaching back through Faze-O and forward to R&G (Rhythm & Gangsta): The Masterpiece. Follow any of those threads to keep travelling the influence between bands and genres on Starverb.
