Story of the Year

Emo
EmoHardcore punkRap

Story of the Year is a Emo and Hardcore punk act. Their catalogue also touches Rap. Their sound grew out of H2O, Colin Brittain, Heroin, Goldfinger and Origami Angel. Those roots explain a lot about how Story of the Year arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as A Day to Remember, Matchbook Romance, Madina Lake, The Used and Anberlin, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Destroy Rebuild Until God Shows, Amber Pacific and The Blackout, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 35 connections around Story of the Year, reaching back through H2O and forward to Destroy Rebuild Until God Shows. Follow any of those threads to keep travelling the influence between bands and genres on Starverb.
