Anti-Nowhere League is a Punk rock act. Their sound grew out of Ralph McTell, Punks Not Dead and Cockney Rejects. Those roots explain a lot about how Anti-Nowhere League arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Sham 69, The Business, Peter and the Test Tube Babies, The Partisans and Vice Squad, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into The Damned, Rancid, U.K. Subs, Motörhead and Jubileum Volume III, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 36 connections around Anti-Nowhere League, reaching back through Ralph McTell and forward to The Damned.
