The Renegades

The Renegades is an act on the Starverb influence map. Their sound grew out of Ray Charles, Kim Fowley and Franz Liszt. Those roots explain a lot about how The Renegades arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Manfred Mann, The Troggs, The Beach Boys, The Bobby Fuller Four and Herman's Hermits, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Nick Simper, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 22 connections around The Renegades, reaching back through Ray Charles and forward to Nick Simper. Follow any of those threads to keep travelling the influence between bands and genres on Starverb.
