Tub Ring is an act on the Starverb influence map. Their sound grew out of Secular Haze. Those roots explain a lot about how Tub Ring arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as That Handsome Devil, The Toxhards, Nick Lutsko, Firewater and Cojum Dip, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Black Light Burns, Wesley Willis, Kill Hannah, Plain White T's and Foxy Shazam, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 27 connections around Tub Ring, reaching back through Secular Haze and forward to Black Light Burns. Follow any of those threads to keep travelling the influence between bands and genres on Starverb.
