twen is an act on the Starverb influence map. Their sound grew out of Red Hot Chili Peppers, Smash Mouth, Sugar Ray, Limp Bizkit and Nujabes. Those roots explain a lot about how twen arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Wishy, Slow Pulp, Barrie, Prewn and Why Bonnie, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Francis of Delirium, TTSSFU, feeble little horse, Bleary Eyed and Peel Dream Magazine, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 56 connections around twen, reaching back through Red Hot Chili Peppers and forward to Francis of Delirium.
