Yoasobi is a J-pop act. Their sound grew out of JO1, Atarashii Gakko!, Creepy Nuts, Radwimps and Hatsune Miku. Those roots explain a lot about how Yoasobi arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Yorushika, Vaundy, imase, Mrs. Green Apple and Uru, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Poppin'Party, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 19 connections around Yoasobi, reaching back through JO1 and forward to Poppin'Party.
