Charles Jeremy "Chaz" Jankel is an English musician and songwriter. Charles Arthur Russell Jr. was an American cellist, composer, producer, singer, and musician from Iowa, whose work spanned a disparate range of styles. After studying contemporary composition and Indian classical music in California, Russell relocated to New York City in the mid-1970s, where he became involved in Lower Manhattan's avant-garde community and later the city's burgeoning disco scene. His eclectic music was often marked by adventurous production choices and his soft tenor vocals.

Sworn Virgins is the twenty-seventh studio album by Omar Rodríguez-López as a solo artist, his first in more than 3 years and first to be released through Ipecac Recordings. Due to an error, Sworn Virgins accidentally leaked through Rhapsody on June 24, 2016, three weeks before its official release date. On July 7, 2016, it was announced that Sworn Virgins would be the first in the series of 12 records Ipecac would be releasing as digital downloads, fortnightly throughout the remainder of 2016. Limited CD pressings and a possible limited edition CD/LP box set containing all 12 records were also in the plans.
