Black Box is an Italian house music group popular in the late 1980s and early 1990s. It consists of DJ Daniele Davoli, classically trained clarinet teacher Valerio Semplici, keyboardist and electronic musician Mirko Limoni, and vocalist Celestine Walcott-Gordon. French fashion model Katrin Quinol joined the act in 1989 and became the official face of Black Box, appearing on the cover of their single and album releases as well as in music videos, including the hit "Ride on Time", which was the highest-selling single of 1989 in the UK. The following year, it was revealed that Quinol was lip-syncing and had not performed on the recording. American singer Martha Wash performed the majority of the songs on the group's debut album, Dreamland, while being uncredited.

Basement Jaxx are an English electronic music duo consisting of Felix Buxton and Simon Ratcliffe. The pair got their name from the regular club night they held in Brixton, London, UK. They rose to popularity in the underground house scene of the mid-1990s, and found international chart success and win Best Dance Act at both the 2002 and 2004 Brit Awards. L.A. STYLE was a British-Belgian-Dutch collaboration techno dance music group, consisting of founder, producer and radio DJ Wessel van Diepen, composer Denzil Slemming and FX a.k.a. Frans Merkx, as well as Foco and Ray Decadance of the Belgian project Rofo. L.A. Style was most notable for their 1991 single "James Brown Is Dead" and their 1992 single "I'm Raving", both of which appeared on Billboard's Hot 100 Airplay chart, making them the first EDM group to venture near the top 50 of the main Billboard singles chart.

Technotronic was a Belgian electronic music project formed in 1987 by Jo Bogaert and best known for their 1989 single, "Pump Up the Jam", which features vocals by Ya Kid K. EMF are an English alternative rock band from Cinderford, Gloucestershire, who came to prominence at the beginning of the 1990s. During their initial eight-year run, from 1989 to 1997, the band released three studio albums before a hiatus. Their first single, "Unbelievable", reached number 3 on the UK Singles Chart, and was a number 1 hit on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart. Their debut album, Schubert Dip, went to number 3 on the UK Albums Chart. In April 2022, EMF released their first album of new material in 27 years, Go Go Sapiens.
