Their work, which blended elements of funk, soul, psychedelic rock, gospel, and R&B, became a pivotal influence on subsequent American popular music. Their core line-up was led by singer-songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist Sly Stone, and included Stone's siblings Freddie Stone and Rose Stone alongside Cynthia Robinson, Greg Errico (drums), Jerry Martini (saxophone), and Larry Graham. The band was the first major American rock group to have a racially integrated, mixed-gender lineup.
Crown LandsartistCrown Lands is a Canadian rock music duo from Oshawa, Ontario. The band consists of vocalist/drummer Cody Bowles, and guitarist/bassist/keyboardist Kevin Comeau. With prog-rock influences, the duo compose music and lyrics inspired by Indigenous resistance to colonialism. They have stated that their name, "Crown Lands", communicates a desire to disrupt the concept of Canadian "crown land", or government-held lands stolen from First Nations.

He is a recurring guitarist for the funk bands Vulfpeck and The Fearless Flyers, and has performed with Dave Koz, Stay Human, Ben Rector, Dr. Mambo's Combo, Chris Thile, Dave Matthews Band, and Dirty Loops. He released several albums in 2020, including Live in Amsterdam, a collaboration with the Metropole Orkest, and Meditations, a new-age album with Jon Batiste. His recent works include two albums released in conjunction with his variety show.
