Legacy of Mayhem

Havok is an American thrash metal band from Denver, Colorado, formed in 2004. As of 2024, their current lineup consists of frontman David Sanchez, drummer Pete Webber, and bassist Nick Schendzielos. They have gone through a number of personnel changes, with each album featuring a different lineup, and leaving Sanchez as the only remaining original member left in the band.

Michael "Mick" Kenney, also known as Kordhell, is a British musician and record producer. He first became known in the extreme metal scene as the founding multi-instrumentalist of Anaal Nathrakh, where he performed under the pseudonym Irrumator during the band's early years and has handled all studio instrumentation, drum programming, and production since 1999. In the 2020s, he gained mainstream recognition as the electronic artist Kordhell, producing drift phonk tracks that have amassed hundreds of millions of streams worldwide, most notably "Murder in My Mind".

Abigail is a Japanese black metal band from Tokyo formed in 1992. Their first gig was in August 1992, where they served as the opening act for Sigh. At one point in time, Abigail was hailed as "The Most Evil Band in Japan." Their debut album, Intercourse & Lust, was released in 1996. The band has released six full-length studio albums, and numerous more extended plays, splits, and live albums. Bandleader Yasuyuki Suzuki has cited Bulldozer, Carnivore, NME, Sodom, Venom, Bathory, Hellhammer, Celtic Frost, Mercyful Fate, King Diamond, Sarcófago, the early works of Mayhem, Darkthrone, Beherit, VON, Misfits, Terveet Kädet and GG Allin as influences.

Nattens Madrigal – Aatte Hymne Til Ulven I Manden is the third studio album by Norwegian band Ulver, issued on 3 March 1997 via Century Media Records. Composed and arranged during the first half of 1995, Nattens is a concept album about wolves, the night, the moon, and the dark side of mankind.

A Blaze in the Northern Sky is the second studio album and the debut black metal album by the Norwegian black metal band Darkthrone. It was recorded at Creative Studios in August 1991 and released on 26 February 1992 by Peaceville Records. In addition to earlier rehearsal recordings made between March 1991 and the Norwegian summer holidays, the album features the band's first official black metal recordings and is regarded as a classic within the genre. It is the first album of what fans refer to as the "Unholy Trinity," with the other albums being Under a Funeral Moon and Transilvanian Hunger. This album was the last to feature bassist Dag Nilsen. In 2020, it was included in the National Library of Norway's permanent exhibition due to its significance to Norwegian culture and its role as a foundational work in Norwegian black metal.

Anthems to the Welkin at Dusk is the second studio album by Norwegian black metal band Emperor, released on 19 May 1997 through Candlelight Records and Century Black.

Transilvanian Hunger is the fourth studio album by Norwegian black metal band Darkthrone. It was released 17 February 1994 by Peaceville Records. It is the third and final album of what is dubbed the band's "Unholy Trinity", along with A Blaze in the Northern Sky and Under a Funeral Moon.

Puritanical Euphoric Misanthropia is the fifth studio album by Norwegian symphonic black metal band Dimmu Borgir. It was released by Nuclear Blast Records in 2001. This is the first album to feature drummer Nick Barker, guitarist Galder, and ICS Vortex on bass. It is also the first album upon which the band used real orchestral instrumentation besides keyboards and the first of the three subsequent albums recorded in Studio Fredman in Gothenburg, Sweden, with producer Fredrik Nordström. The drum sound on this particular album strongly relies on using triggered samples, thus giving it a distinct drum machine sounding result. According to Nick Barker, the idea to this recording approach at that time was heavily inspired by his friend Hellhammer and him doing the same thing on Mayhem's album Grand Declaration of War. Specifically, the bass drum sound uses a direct sample from the beginning of "5 Minutes Alone" by Pantera off their 1994's Far Beyond Driven album. Also the exact tom drum sound used on this album was later re-used on Reaping the World Winds, debut album by Dimension F3H, which was mixed by Nordström as well.
