Dir En Grey is a Japanese heavy metal band formed in February 1997 and currently signed to Firewall Div., a sub-division of Free-Will. With a consistent lineup of vocalist Kyo, guitarists Kaoru and Die, bassist Toshiya, and drummer Shinya, they have released twelve full-length albums. Numerous stylistic changes have made the genre of their music difficult to determine, though it is generally considered to be a form of metal. Originally a visual kei band, the members later opted for more subtle attire, but have continued to maintain a dramatic image on stage.

Esprit D'Air is a Japanese/British alternative metal band formed in 2010 with members from Japan and England who coalesced in London. The band is led and fronted by Kai, current guitarist of the Sisters of Mercy. Their latest album Aeons entered #1 in the Official Rock & Metal Albums Chart.

Sadie (サディ) is a visual kei rock band from Japan, formed in 2005. Sadie is signed to Face Music and Mijinko Records.

Black Light Burns was an American industrial rock band fronted by Wes Borland. Founded in 2005 after Borland departed Limp Bizkit, the band's lineup also includes Nick Annis, Dennis Sanders and Dylan Taylor. Their debut album, Cruel Melody, was released in June 2007 to critical acclaim. They released a covers and b-sides CD/DVD combo package in the summer of 2008 titled Cover Your Heart and the Anvil Pants Odyssey. After a temporary hiatus, the band regrouped in 2012 and released their second album, The Moment You Realize You're Going to Fall in August. The band released a concept album, Lotus Island, in January 2013.

Metal Resistance is the second studio album by Japanese heavy metal band Babymetal. It was first released on March 29, 2016 , in Japan through BMD Fox Records, and on April 1, 2016 , worldwide through earMusic, RED Associated Labels (RAL), and Sony Music Entertainment. Most work for the album began in 2014, shortly after the release of the band's debut album Babymetal. The members of the band describe the album as more diverse in heavy metal, with the recurring theme acquired while on tour.

"Ijime, Dame, Zettai" is the debut major label single by Japanese heavy metal band Babymetal. It was released in Japan on January 9, 2013, as the fourth overall single from the album Babymetal.

Madmans Esprit is a South Korean avant-garde metal band, highly inspired from visual kei. The band formed in 2010 in Seoul. Kyuho, the lead singer, defines his musical style as "Depressive Suicidal Blackened Pop". In 2023, their album I See Myself Through You Who See Us Through Me won the Korean Music Awards in the Best Metal and Hardcore album category.
