Asake is an act on the Starverb influence map. Their sound grew out of Mavo, Kiss Daniel, Kizz Daniel, Ayra Starr and Young Jonn. Those roots explain a lot about how Asake arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Young Jonn, Olamide, BNXN, Wizkid and Burna Boy, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Zlatan, Olamide, Burna Boy, Kizz Daniel and Central Cee, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 45 connections around Asake, reaching back through Mavo and forward to Zlatan. Follow any of those threads to keep travelling the influence between bands and genres on Starverb.
