Ashes

Doom metal
Doom metal

Ashes is a Doom metal act. Their sound grew out of Sever and Skye Sweetnam. Those roots explain a lot about how Ashes arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Mgła, Afsky, Misþyrming, Gris and Woods of Desolation, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Altogether the chart holds 12 connections around Ashes, reaching back through Sever. Follow any of those threads to keep travelling the influence between bands and genres on Starverb.
