Aterciopelados

Latin pop
Latin pop

Aterciopelados is a Latin pop act. Their sound grew out of Juanes, Enanitos Verdes, Ritchie Valens, Gustavo Cerati and Julieta Venegas. Those roots explain a lot about how Aterciopelados arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Ekhymosis, Cabas, La Ley, Enrique Bunbury and Enanitos Verdes, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Bomba Estéreo, Superlitio, Choc Quib Town, Alex Ubago and Julieta Venegas, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 44 connections around Aterciopelados, reaching back through Juanes and forward to Bomba Estéreo. Follow any of those threads to keep travelling the influence between bands and genres on Starverb.
