Banks

Contemporary R&B
Contemporary R&BElectronicElectropop

Banks is a Contemporary R&B and Electronic act. Their catalogue also touches Electropop and Trip hop. Their sound grew out of Lauren Jauregui, Robert Glasper, Francis and the Lights, Robert Glasper Experiment and Kimbra. Those roots explain a lot about how Banks arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as MØ, Ellie Goulding, Lolo Zouaï, Låpsley and Sabrina Claudio, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Kenya Grace, Erin LeCount, Maggie Lindemann, Ellie Goulding and The Weeknd, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 48 connections around Banks, reaching back through Lauren Jauregui and forward to Kenya Grace. Follow any of those threads to keep travelling the influence between bands and genres on Starverb.
