Fink is a Folk act. Their sound grew out of Ninja Tune, The Cure, The Smiths, The Orb and Radiohead. Those roots explain a lot about how Fink arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Jennifer Warnes, Agnes Obel, José González, James Vincent McMorrow and Eva Cassidy, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Negramaro, Lamb, André 3000, Emeli Sandé and R.E.M., where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 39 connections around Fink, reaching back through Ninja Tune and forward to Negramaro.
