Blackberry Smoke

Country
Country

Blackberry Smoke is a Country act. Their sound grew out of Amanda Shires, David Lee Murphy, The Georgia Satellites and Earache Records. Those roots explain a lot about how Blackberry Smoke arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as The Temperance Movement, The Black Crowes, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Shooter Jennings and Black Stone Cherry, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Trace Adkins, Eric Church, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Jamey Johnson and Peter Frampton, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 28 connections around Blackberry Smoke, reaching back through Amanda Shires and forward to Trace Adkins. Follow any of those threads to keep travelling the influence between bands and genres on Starverb.
