Bruce Langhorne is a Folk act. Their sound grew out of Joan Baez, Richie Havens, Judy Collins, Gordon Lightfoot and Hugh Masekela. They run in the same orbit as Leo Kottke, Six Organs of Admittance, Bert Jansch, Jake Xerxes Fussell and Hayden Pedigo, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Kate Havnevik and Mica Levi, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 27 connections around Bruce Langhorne, reaching back through Joan Baez and forward to Kate Havnevik.
