CFCF is an act on the Starverb influence map. Their sound grew out of Peter Gabriel, DJ Shadow, Yellow Magic Orchestra, Talk Talk and Bonnie 'Prince' Billy. Those roots explain a lot about how CFCF arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as James K, Com Truise, ML Buch, Vegyn and Visible Cloaks, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Kero Kero Bonito, Datarock, Fan Death, Azari & III and Say Lou Lou, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 39 connections around CFCF, reaching back through Peter Gabriel and forward to Kero Kero Bonito.
