Clarion is an act on the Starverb influence map. Their sound grew out of Paramore, Sonic Youth, Asian Kung-Fu Generation, Tricot and Hum. Those roots explain a lot about how Clarion arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as xela fella, Julie, Smush, Yearn and FlyingFish, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into The Long Faces, quannnic, The Neverminds, cloudyfield and spawncamped, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 53 connections around Clarion, reaching back through Paramore and forward to The Long Faces. Follow any of those threads to keep travelling the influence between bands and genres on Starverb.
