◇ image via WikipediaEl Alfa
El Alfa is a Reggaeton act. Their sound grew out of Chimbala. Those roots explain a lot about how El Alfa arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Bulin 47, Don Miguelo, Tokischa, Bryant Myers and Nio Garcia, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Don Miguelo, Arcángel, Nicky Jam, Tempo and Anuel AA, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 35 connections around El Alfa, reaching back through Chimbala and forward to Don Miguelo.
