Emancipator

Trip hop

Emancipator is a Trip hop act. Their sound grew out of Nujabes and Bonobo. Those roots explain a lot about how Emancipator arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Gramatik, Yppah, Blue Sky Black Death, Thievery Corporation and Catching Flies, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Beats Antique, Big Gigantic and Clozee, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 16 connections around Emancipator, reaching back through Nujabes and forward to Beats Antique. Follow any of those threads to keep travelling the influence between bands and genres on Starverb.
