RJD2

RJD2 is an act on the Starverb influence map. Their sound grew out of Gershon Kingsley, Vast Aire, Marion Black, Hoodie Allen and dälek. Those roots explain a lot about how RJD2 arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as DJ Vadim, Tricky, Mr. Scruff, Moloko and Portishead, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Hermitude, Pigeon John, NoMBe, Aesop Rock and Cannibal Ox, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 38 connections around RJD2, reaching back through Gershon Kingsley and forward to Hermitude. Follow any of those threads to keep travelling the influence between bands and genres on Starverb.
