Foxes is a Electronic and Synth-pop act. Their sound grew out of Kate Bush, Izzy Bizu, Björk, Patti Smith and Cyndi Lauper. Those roots explain a lot about how Foxes arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Ellie Goulding, Natalia Kills, Betty Who, Carly Rae Jepsen and Ryn Weaver, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Skylar Grey, Zedd, Fall Out Boy, Rudimental and Sub Focus, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 46 connections around Foxes, reaching back through Kate Bush and forward to Skylar Grey.
