◇ image via WikipediaColdplay
Coldplay is a Pop and Rap act. Their sound grew out of Third Man Records, Toploader, 12 Memories, Day 'n' Nite and Everyday Robots. Those roots explain a lot about how Coldplay arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Keane, OneRepublic, Snow Patrol, U2 and The Killers, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Mystery Jets, Yemi Alade, David Guetta, The Night the Sun Came Up and La pared, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 210 connections around Coldplay, reaching back through Third Man Records and forward to Mystery Jets. Follow any of those threads to keep travelling the influence between bands and genres on Starverb.
