Guano Apes is a Rap act. Their sound grew out of Alphaville, Eminem and Apocalyptica. Those roots explain a lot about how Guano Apes arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Skunk Anansie, H-Blockx, Die Happy, Adema and Garbage, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Jinjer and SugarComa, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 28 connections around Guano Apes, reaching back through Alphaville and forward to Jinjer.
