Jinjer is an act on the Starverb influence map. Their sound grew out of Guano Apes, Slayer, Death, Pantera and Anathema. Those roots explain a lot about how Jinjer arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Butcher Babies, Once Human, In This Moment, Gojira and Alien Weaponry, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Arch Enemy, Cradle of Filth, Amorphis, Soilwork and Bad Wolves, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 37 connections around Jinjer, reaching back through Guano Apes and forward to Arch Enemy. Follow any of those threads to keep travelling the influence between bands and genres on Starverb.
