Apocalyptica is an act on the Starverb influence map. Their sound grew out of Pantera, David Bowie, Richard Wagner, DIR EN GREY and Stam1na. Those roots explain a lot about how Apocalyptica arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Epica, Nightwish, Therion, Delain and Within Temptation, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Waltari, Guano Apes, Slayer, HIM and The Rasmus, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 77 connections around Apocalyptica, reaching back through Pantera and forward to Waltari. Follow any of those threads to keep travelling the influence between bands and genres on Starverb.
