Hardwell is a Hardstyle act. Their sound grew out of Timmy Trumpet, Warp Brothers, Dimitri Vegas, R3hab and Mr. Probz. Those roots explain a lot about how Hardwell arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Afrojack, BlasterJaxx, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Dannic and Bassjackers, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Topic, Laidback Luke, Bassjackers, Steve Angello and Robin S, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 58 connections around Hardwell, reaching back through Timmy Trumpet and forward to Topic.
