Steve Aoki is an act on the Starverb influence map. Their sound grew out of Spank Rock, Kalan.FrFr, Alan Walker, Mike Shinoda and Louis Tomlinson. Those roots explain a lot about how Steve Aoki arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as R3hab, Timmy Trumpet, Nicky Romero, Hardwell and Afrojack, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Infected Mushroom, Belinda, Migos, Lay and Deorro, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 84 connections around Steve Aoki, reaching back through Spank Rock and forward to Infected Mushroom. Follow any of those threads to keep travelling the influence between bands and genres on Starverb.
