IAM

IAM is an act on the Starverb influence map. Their sound grew out of Dee Nasty, Stevie Wonder, Wu-Tang Clan, Inspectah Deck and Manau. Those roots explain a lot about how IAM arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Shurik'n, Fonky Family, MC Solaar, 113 and Doc Gynéco, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into L'Algérino, Bigflo & Oli, Disiz, Sexion d'Assaut and Fonky Family, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 35 connections around IAM, reaching back through Dee Nasty and forward to L'Algérino. Follow any of those threads to keep travelling the influence between bands and genres on Starverb.
