Jaws

Jaws is an act on the Starverb influence map. Their sound grew out of Peace and Mad Caddies. Those roots explain a lot about how Jaws arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Blaenavon, Sundara Karma, Sea Girls, Viola Beach and The Pale White, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into swim school, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 31 connections around Jaws, reaching back through Peace and forward to swim school. Follow any of those threads to keep travelling the influence between bands and genres on Starverb.

Background

JAWS were an English indie rock band formed in Birmingham, England in 2012 after singer Connor Schofield had posted a demo (Cameron) online that received enough positive feedback to encourage him to start a band with friends from Halesowen College. They have often been identified as part of the Digbeth-based B-Town scene.
