Kaleo is an act on the Starverb influence map. Their sound grew out of Bishop Briggs, Dea Matrona, Jimi Hendrix, Carlos Santana and Jim Morrison. Those roots explain a lot about how Kaleo arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Welshly Arms, The Blue Stones, Des Rocs, Highly Suspect and Rival Sons, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Led Zeppelin, ZZ Top, Vance Joy, The Lumineers and The Rolling Stones, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 31 connections around Kaleo, reaching back through Bishop Briggs and forward to Led Zeppelin. Follow any of those threads to keep travelling the influence between bands and genres on Starverb.
