KK is a Alternative rock act. Their sound grew out of Mithoon, Shing02, Zubeen and Palak Muchhal. Those roots explain a lot about how KK arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Javed Ali, Mohit Chauhan, Atif Aslam, Pritam and Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Ankit Tiwari, Arijit Singh and Neeti Mohan, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 36 connections around KK, reaching back through Mithoon and forward to Ankit Tiwari.
