Kode9 is a Dubstep and Electronic act. Their sound grew out of Laurel Halo, Prince, Burial and Fatima Al Qadiri. Those roots explain a lot about how Kode9 arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Burial, Skream, Digital Mystikz, Benga and The Bug, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Burial, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 15 connections around Kode9, reaching back through Laurel Halo and forward to Burial.
