◇ image via WikipediaMolotov
Molotov is a Punk rock act. Their sound grew out of Los Tucanes de Tijuana, Gustavo Santaolalla, Thalía, Trio and Enanitos Verdes. Those roots explain a lot about how Molotov arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Control Machete, El Gran Silencio, Plastilina Mosh, Kinky and Víctimas Del Doctor Cerebro, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Superlitio and Calva Louise, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 35 connections around Molotov, reaching back through Los Tucanes de Tijuana and forward to Superlitio.
