Myles Smith is a Folk act. Their sound grew out of Amber Run, Ed Sheeran and Chris Martin. Those roots explain a lot about how Myles Smith arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Dermot Kennedy, Calum Scott, Phillip Phillips, Chance Peña and George Ezra, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Niall Horan, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 23 connections around Myles Smith, reaching back through Amber Run and forward to Niall Horan.
