Nicodemus is an act on the Starverb influence map. Their sound grew out of Prince Far I, Prince Jazzbo and Cutty Ranks. Those roots explain a lot about how Nicodemus arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Toyan, Nitty Gritty, Pad Anthony, Brigadier Jerry and Echo Minott, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Chaka Demus and Professor Nuts, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 29 connections around Nicodemus, reaching back through Prince Far I and forward to Chaka Demus. Follow any of those threads to keep travelling the influence between bands and genres on Starverb.
