Novos Baianos is a Psychedelic rock act. Their sound grew out of João Gilberto. Those roots explain a lot about how Novos Baianos arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Jorge Ben, Os Mutantes, Caetano Veloso, Gilberto Gil and Secos & Molhados, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Titãs, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 12 connections around Novos Baianos, reaching back through João Gilberto and forward to Titãs.
