Perrie Edwards is a Country pop and Dance-pop act. Their sound grew out of Steve Perry, Journey, Alanis Morissette and Whitney Houston. Those roots explain a lot about how Perrie Edwards arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Perrie, Melanie C, Leigh-Anne, Little Mix and Ellie Goulding, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Jesy Nelson, Jade Thirlwall and Leigh Anne Pinnock, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 40 connections around Perrie Edwards, reaching back through Steve Perry and forward to Jesy Nelson.
