Playaz Circle

Playaz Circle is an act on the Starverb influence map. Their sound grew out of Raekwon, Ludacris and 2 Chainz. Those roots explain a lot about how Playaz Circle arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Young Jeezy, Paul Wall, Mystikal, Bun B and Trick Daddy, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Altogether the chart holds 31 connections around Playaz Circle, reaching back through Raekwon. Follow any of those threads to keep travelling the influence between bands and genres on Starverb.

Background

Playaz Circle was an American Southern hip hop duo, formed in 1997 and composed of 2 Chainz and Dolla Boy – both of whom originate from College Park, Georgia. They signed with Ludacris' record label, Disturbing tha Peace, an imprint of Def Jam Recordings to release two albums: Supply & Demand (2007) and Flight 360: The Takeoff (2009). The former spawned the single "Duffle Bag Boy", their only song to enter the Billboard Hot 100; it peaked at number 15 on the chart.
