Curren$y is an act on the Starverb influence map. Their sound grew out of Lil Wayne, Snoop Dogg, Big K.R.I.T., Mos Def and Ski Beatz. Those roots explain a lot about how Curren$y arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Smoke DZA, Larry June, LE$, Curren$y & Wiz Khalifa and Boldy James, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Knucks and French Montana, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 61 connections around Curren$y, reaching back through Lil Wayne and forward to Knucks. Follow any of those threads to keep travelling the influence between bands and genres on Starverb.
