Prince Alla

Prince Alla is an act on the Starverb influence map. Their sound grew out of Earl "Chinna" Smith, The Revolutionaries and Tapper Zukie. Those roots explain a lot about how Prince Alla arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as U-Roy, Yabby You, Leroy Smart, Wailing Souls and Gregory Isaacs, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Soul II Soul, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 28 connections around Prince Alla, reaching back through Earl "Chinna" Smith and forward to Soul II Soul. Follow any of those threads to keep travelling the influence between bands and genres on Starverb.
