Keith Hudson is a Reggae act. Their sound grew out of Big Youth, Augustus Pablo, The Abyssinians, Carlton Barrett and Bob Marley. Those roots explain a lot about how Keith Hudson arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Scientist, Lee "Scratch" Perry & The Upsetters, Prince Jammy, King Tubby and Creation Rebel, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into New Order, Ian Curtis, Joy Division and Errol Dunkley, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 35 connections around Keith Hudson, reaching back through Big Youth and forward to New Order.
